We’ve achieved our goal of building a Veterans Plaza, with hometown-hero Major Dick Winters as a centerpiece!
Plaza Dedication is May 25th at 3:00 pm
Thanks to an outpouring of support from area residents, businesses, Veterans and Veterans groups, we have achieved our goal of honoring all soldiers from all wars with a Veterans Plaza in Dick Winters’ hometown of Ephrata, PA.
The dedication ceremony is scheduled for Memorial Day, May 25th at 3:00 pm in the parking lot immediately adjacent to Veterans’ Plaza. Attendance is free for all who attend, but we are requesting RSVPs for planning purposes.
The ceremony will be approximately 30 – 45 minutes long, and will be followed by a reception at the VFW. The ceremony will include an honor guard, 21 gun salute, and bagpipe player… and weather / mechanics permitting, a WW2 plane fly-over. Speakers will include Dick Winters’ closest friend, Bob Hoffman and Four Star General and Ephrata High School graduate, Tom Hobbins.
Thank you for your support of this inspirational project.
